Why do I have to be fair and lovely...why can't I just be Lovely?

Just thought i'd use that to catch your attention, NSFW

So yeah, it still sucks having to work, but I worked a day on the weekend and was off today, so why not.................

I was urged by one of my fans (as always open to topics) to touch on one of the interesting crazes of my motherland, India.

(Hindustan hamara)

Also by this posting about a few girls who are fighting back: http://www.buzzfeed.com/niralishah/unfair-and-lovely#.mj01A0rQd

A lot of the conservative thinking of India actually is part of what makes it beautiful. The whole world is modernizing (as is India), but there is still a large portion holding onto how things used to be. There are still small shops to get food, clothes, and other things you need. Things are getting commercialized fast which saddens me. However, dark-shaming needs to stop.

So if you are Indian, Chances are you have multiple bottles of this sittin' around the crib:

This used to be only marketed for girls (but alot of us boys secretly used it, holla)....until recently I saw this on the Indian TV channel at home and later on my trip to India

YUP, FOR TOUGH MALE SKIN CUZ GENDER DIFFERENCES EXIST IN SKIN, anyways that's besides the point....

At first I was like

But then I realized the truth behind it was that there's enough of a stigma, emphasis, and market for this in India to create a whole other brand of the same cream.

So anyways, what are the issues here?

1. India is fuck*n hot....how do you expect people to stay light with that Sun shining down so hard?

So basically, don't go to India from likeee April to August. It's basically fire outside. You'll just be stuck inside hoping to get out

It's too damn sunny, and too damn hot, frankly...

It's so surprising and they expect you to bathe in sunscreen, and stay indoors for fear of becoming:

And then they expect you to get all decked out for the wedding you're attending

and then they expect you to get married, have kids, your kids get married and them have kids...

Oh wait, different topic

2. "Black don't crack"

SHE'S 43!!!!!!!!

Going to an HBCU (holla)

and growing up in the ghetto streets of Sharpstown, I have heard this term being thrown around alot. I can't help but agree on this 100%.

Also at TSU I learned that "light-skin black girls" are looked at differently as well...a quick perusal of my favorite website urban dictionary shows in an excerpt: "Light skin girls, because of their high desirability, often talk to many guys at once flirting and leading all of them on without ever actual putting out."
...wut

(No offense) but a half decent looking African american woman without makeup will always outshine a half decent looking "Anglo" woman without makeup.

I mean think about it, eye shadow, blush, tanning, etc  are all ADDING color to those without it. Which begs to say that those without color are deficient in something, right?

A lot of blemishes and such go away unnoticed when you are darker, and alot of times you can't tell too much of a difference when darker-skinned girls don't wear makeup (Unless they are cake-faced on the regular).

PSA: YOU STILL HAVE TO WEAR EYE-LINER.

3.  Mental health:

A. Stigmas are just stigmas to you and I:
(This is my actual skin color beneath my undershirt, I just have a farmer's tan)

However, there was a period of my life where my parents didn't let me go out when it was too sunny (some of this was due to the damage of sun-rays, heat exposure, etc.), but a good portion of it was also so I wouldn't waste this God-given gift of being light-skinned (Sorry mummy).

At the end of the day, some of the backwards thinking similar to this causes many of the first generation Indian-american and immigrants in general to be so lost within their culture and that of the country they immigrated to.

In turn, stigmas turn into self-consciousness, which turns into mental issues, which may lead to suicide. Suicide should not be the answer for being born with dark skin.

No matter if you're:

or

The only thing that matters:

Anyways, it's summer-time which is the best time to shift back on SUMMER SHRED SEASON (go to http://www.groominguru89.blogspot.com/2015/05/shred-season.html for reference if you haven't read). Holler at your boy if you want some pointers which may help you in finding the perfect formula (everybody's journey is different) to achieving the body you want, but more importantly the health you need.

Also feel free to call me out/talk shit/whatever cuz I like the motivation.

Whenever I see a fresh jalebi being fried
